About
Sophia Tatiana Sarigianides is a Ph. D. candidate, Full-Time Instructor and Coordinator of Student Teachers in the Teaching of English Program in the Department of Arts and Humanities. Her research and scholarship focus on teacher subjectivity, professional development, teacher inquiry, and literacy practices around young adult texts. She has worked as a supervisor for new teachers in New York City schools for eight years, and as a literacy coach focused on professional development for three years. Prior to her work at Teachers College, she completed her Masters Degree and Ph.D. coursework in the University of California, Irvine’s English program where she also taught undergraduate English and Composition courses for three years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA.
